A number of development projects worth more than Rs 1,800 crore that are intended to improve infrastructure and make daily life easier will have their foundations laid by PM Modi in Varanasi on Thursday.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Varanasi, where he will lay the cornerstone for a number of development projects totaling more than Rs 1,800 crore that are aimed at upgrading infrastructure and easing daily life.
The prime minister will officially open the “Akshay Patra Mid-Day Meal Kitchen” at LT College in Varanasi at around 2:00 p.m. This facility can prepare midday meals for up to one lakh students.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) announced in a statement that Prime Minister Modi will visit the International Cooperation and Convention Centre — Rudraksh — at around 2:45 pm to open the “Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam” on the execution of the National Education Policy.
The prime minister will then travel to Dr Sampurnanand Sports Stadium in Sigra, where he would officially launch many projects totaling more over Rs 1,800 crore and lay the foundation stone for them, according to the statement.
ITI at Village Mahgaon, Phase-II of the “Vedic Vigyan Kendra” at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), the Government Girls Home at Ramnagar, and the Theme Park at the Government Old Age Women Home at Durgakund are among the social and educational projects that will be inaugurated, according to the statement.
According to the statement, the prime minister will dedicate the synthetic basketball court and athletic track at the Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Sports Complex in Bada Lalpur, as well as a number of police and fire safety projects, including the construction of a non-residential police station in Sindhaura, dormitories and barracks at the police stations in Mirzamurad, Cholapur, Jansa, and Kapsethi, and a fire extinguisher center in Pindra.
According to the announcement, the prime minister will also lay the cornerstone for Phase 1 of construction on the Sigra sports stadium. Additionally, he will open the “Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam” at the Rudraksh International Cooperation and Convention Centre. From July 7 to 9, the Ministry of Education will host Shiksha Samagam.
Eminent academics, decision-makers, and academic leaders will have a forum to deliberate, exchange their experiences, and propose a plan for effectively implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. More than 300 academic, administrative, and institutional officials from colleges and institutes of national importance (IIT, IIM, NIT, IISER) around the nation are participating in the event as part of a capacity-building initiative.
