Officials of the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust are planning to invite the honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the reverence ceremony at the temple. During the ceremony, the idol of Lord Shree Rama will be installed in the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The ceremony is scheduled to be conducted relatively early on Makar Sankranti 2024, in January.
Champat Rai, the general of the trust, said that the request letter signed by the president of the trust will be delivered to the PM, requesting him to give a date for the reverence ceremony between December 2024 and January 2024, as no date has been finalized for the ceremony. It is reported that the top floor of the Rama temple will be ready by October 2024.
One to two months will be spared as an observance for the trial, and by December, the gates of the temple will be open for the devotees’ darshan of Lord Rama. The treasurer of the temple trust is also likely to connect with the astrologers to find an auspicious date for the ceremony.
Ayodhya, the land of justice, integrity, love, piousness, and hope, had been the abode of Lord Rama, Maa Sita, and his entire family. The name “Ayodhya” itself implies the bhumi of Lord Rama and his devotees.
The Ram temple has been built after many years in the pious Bhumi of Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The bhumi pujan for the temple was performed on August 5, 2020. Since that day, the construction activity has commenced, and now it is in its final stages.
Lord Rama, who is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu, is very popular not only in India but also in various countries like Nepal, Singapore, and some parts of South Korea. His name, chanting, is considered to have power, which can cure all diseases, fear, negativity, anxiety, etc. By just chanting his name, “Rama, Rama, Ram…” one can feel a sudden upsurge in productivity and positivity. He is not only a god but an emotion for millions of people in India and across borders.
During the 16th century, the Mughals demolished the Rama Mandir and built a mosque on it, named Barbri Masjid. It is believed that the mosque was built exactly on Ram Janmabhoomi, which means the exact place where Lord Rama was born, many centuries ago.
This act of building the mosque in Ayodhya led to a huge dispute by the 1850s. The dispute was rightly held by Hindus; they protested against the horrendous act done by the Mughals. Its strife became violent, which further led to the shedding of blood.
Fast forwarding to the 1980s, the Sagar Pariwar, who belonged to the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, commenced a new campaign to reclaim the site, which belonged to Hindus, and to build a Ram mandir in Ayodhya.
By 1989, Vishwa Hindu Parishad was able to lay the foundation of the Rama temple just adjacent to the Barbri Masjid mosque. They, along with the BJP, conducted a rally in the early 1990s. Nearly 150,000 people took part in the rally supporting the construction of the Rama Mandir.
The ongoing rally turned violent, but they were able to supersede the forces and demolish the mosque, which was built exactly on the birth spot of Lord Rama. The demolition led to Hindu and Muslim riots, which again took the lives of thousands of innocents. The hard work of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad finally bore fruitful results with the construction of the majestic Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
