Anuj Sharma, Country Director – Poco India, told India Today Tech in an exclusive interview that the Poco X4 Pro 5G will be priced under Rs 20,000 in India, and that the smartphone maker expects to offer other 5G-enabled handsets in the country this year. The Poco X4 Pro 5G will succeed the Poco X3 Pro, which was released last year and was also in a similar price range.
The Poco X4 Pro 5G has already been released in other parts of the world, and it will be released in India on March 28. While the Poco X3 Pro prioritized performance (thanks to the Snapdragon 860 chip), Anuj claims that the X4 Pro 5G seeks to give a 5G-ready phone without sacrificing too much.
“The Snapdragon 860 is a one-of-a-kind device that no one else in the industry can match. In today’s world, that is unthinkable. If I had to recreate X3 Pro now, it would cost at least Rs 3,000 to 4000 more. The question is whether you want those 100,000 AnTuTu points or 5G. When 5G is fully implemented, there’s a good likelihood that more people will utilise it “Added he.
Surprisingly, the worldwide model of the Poco X4 Pro has a 108-megapixel primary camera, however, the India variant will have a 64-megapixel main sensor. Poco was able to achieve nearly identical performance with both sensors, according to Anuj, and employing the 64-megapixel camera helped them keep the pricing low.
Poco has had a quiet start to the year 2022. In India, all of its phones are rebranded versions of smartphones that were previously released in other regions. The absence of platforms, according to Poco India’s CEO, is to blame.
“The basic concept remains the same: how can we provide the finest service to our customers? Regrettably, there are only a few platforms available. That means you don’t have a lot of choices. It all boils down to the number of changes you can make to those platforms.
There are a lot of phones using Snapdragon 695, for example. Ours, on the other hand, comes with a Snapdragon 695 processor, an AMOLED display, and a 64-megapixel camera. We also hope it is superior to others “he stated.
Focus on 5G
Poco arrived late to the 5G party, but he intends to have a good time this year. Poco did not release its first 5G phone in India till 2021. This year, it intends to release more 5G devices than 4G devices. All Poco phones above a particular price point will have 5G support, according to Anuj.
He mentioned it becomes a little tough on the lower side, and that doing 5G at the entry spots is practically impossible because you’ll have to leave out so many things. The company intends to improve its present lineups, but there will be no new series this year.
“C, M, F, and X are the four various series available. The phones of the M and X series have been released. As a result, the C and F series phones should be available in June. We’ll concentrate on these two shows “Anuj expressed his viewpoint. In India, the Poco F3 GT was the final Poco phone to be released.
This year could be a pivotal year for Poco, as the company looks to expand beyond smartphones. Anuj said the business will pursue a “Phone+” approach, adding that we may expect devices in the audio, power, and protection categories, as well as wearables. The speculated Poco Watch, on the other hand, will take some time.
“We’re considering a phone-plus strategy.” So, anything that connects to a phone is on the table. We’re not talking about smart TVs or AIoT devices here. If you go looking for simple chargers and cords right now, for example, you won’t find any.
There are no earphones that are wired. As a result, if someone buys a Poco phone, they will have nothing to go with it. Social media input: Poco to launch 4X 5G phone this year to be priced under 20,00 poco 4X 5G phone to launch this year priced under 20,000
