This Tuesday, around 5 am, half a dozen police officers from Chhattisgarh reached Rohit Ranjan house in Ghaziabad to arrest him in the connection of altering Rahul Gandhi’s video on their news channel.
Then he tweeted about it that, today morning, “Chhattisgarh police came to my house to arrest me without notifying local police” and then he tag Yogi Adityanath, SSP of Ghaziabad and ADZ zone Lucknow.
A post from the Twitter handle of the Raipur police replied to Ranjan’s tweet, stating: “There is no such rule to notify you. Regardless, UP police have been notified. The Chhattisgarh police team has shown you the court-issued arrest warrant. In addition, they said, Rohit Ranjan should cooperate, take part in the investigation, and present his case in court.

After the tweet of Rohit Ranjan, the UP police didn’t waste their time and sent the police of Ghaziabad to Rohit Ranjan’s place. UP police said that not a single Chhattisgarh police officer was wearing a uniform and the nameplate from the car was also missing. Arguments broke out between the police of two states.
Abhay Kumar Mishra, chief officer of Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, said that he got a call on 112 and they said some people snatched the phones of security guards and make them sit at the corner of the building.
Later Noida police arrived and took Rohit Ranjan on account of a complaint made by B R Venkatraman over the falsifying of Rahul Gandhi’s image in a video.
A tussle broke out between UP Police and Chhattisgarh police when Noida police were taking Ranjan with them, according to reports.
Further, a senior police officer of Noida police stated that Rohit Ranjan is taken into custody and being questioned in connection to the complaint filed against him.
He was arrested a few days ago after providing doctored information about Rahul Gandhi. He is now free on bail, however, after the channel apologized for the news. He has asked the Supreme Court for help in getting the charges against him dropped.
