On the occasion of world water day on 22nd March, the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (IOC-UNESCO) announced their second edition of an educational programme, ‘Sea Beyond’ in collaboration with Prada.
The educational programme focuses on the preservation of seas and oceans by the governing body. Prada’s Re-Nylon collection has had a huge impact on the whole world. It is an inspirational collection because of its focus on sustainability. This joint venture by the Prada group and IOC-UNESCO focuses on demanding the creativity of ten schools from eight countries for one virtuous objective and that is the preservation of oceans.
Additionally, this programme also prioritises ocean literacy among 13000+ employees, workers of Prada. The second edition of ‘Sea Beyond’ concentrates on the new learning path for secondary school students from different countries and cultures and backgrounds.
The Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO is in charge of supporting global ocean studies and services. The headquarters is situated in Paris, France with 15 0 member countries. The main efforts are to understand, measure, alert, evaluate, manage and enable us to comprehend the ongoing situation.
The commission conducts various welfare programs for nations in order to maintain a stable community for retaining global water heritage. Prada re nylon is a collection of regenerated nylon from plastic wastes, fishing nets in the ocean. Recently Prada presented a collaboration with Adidas of the collection Prada Re-Nylon X Adidas.
Whereas India has elected two personnel for the Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS), Nagaraja Masuluri from the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services, Hyderabad and R. Venkatesan from National Institute of Ocean Technology, Chennai.
