Priyanka said that the Congress will keep its promises in Himachal as well, citing the work done in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan
If the Congress is elected to power in the November 12 Assembly elections, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra repeated Friday, that her party will create 1 lakh jobs, reintroduce the Old Pension Scheme, and offer financial support of Rs 1,500 to every woman in Himachal Pradesh.
Priyanka underlined that the Congress will keep its promises in Himachal as well, citing the work done in the only two states where the party is in exclusive control, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.
Congress will give 1 lakh Jobs
“1 lakh jobs would be created by the Congress… Bhupesh Baghel, the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, is seated here. In the last three years, he has created 5 lakh jobs. The Old Pension Scheme has also been adopted by him, Vadra claimed. Further, she said that the Congress government had made 1.30 million jobs in Rajasthan and that Chhattisgarh has the lowest unemployment rate right now.
If the Congress is elected to power, according to Vadra, the decision to offer 1 lakh employment to the youth of Himachal Pradesh will be finalized in the first cabinet meeting. She stated that the first cabinet meeting will also decide whether to reintroduce the Old Pension Scheme.
Congress’s “Har Ghar Lakshmi Yojna”
When speaking to a crowd in support of her party’s candidate, Raghubir Singh Bali, at a rally in Nagrota Bagwan, the Congress leader said she understood the load carried by women who work both at home and outside the home. This is why, according to the “Har Ghar Lakshmi Yojna,” the Congress aims to give each woman a monthly financial assistance payment of Rs. 1,500.
In addition to fighting the drug epidemic that is destroying young people’s futures, Priyanka also promised that the Congress would also establish English-medium schools in each Assembly constituency.
Vadra accused the BJP administration
Attacking the state government, she said that 63,000 government positions are empty and that under the BJP administration, Himachal had “drowned” in debt.
“When we promise to create 1 lakh employment, their (BJP’s) chief minister claims it is impossible. However, it is feasible when they wish to sell the nation’s assets, PSUs, to their business associates. You (BJP) cancelled large corporations’ loans of Rs 10 lakh crore… yet you do not have funds for the workers who erected Himachal Pradesh,” she continued.
Vadra further also claimed that the Centre had not dealt with problems like inflation. “The public asks for an end to inflation, and you respond by suggesting adding the GST and more taxes. Even the GST on the apple-packing boxes has gone up. You get this response”, she said.
Additionally, she mentioned the Agniveer controversy and declared that the Army will now be managed by contract. She referred to Himachal as “veer bhumi” and herself as a martyr’s daughter in an effort to evoke strong feelings.
Pratibha Singh, the head of the HPCC, and Mukesh Agnihotri, the leader of the CLP, also attended the event.
