R Madhavan, actor, will make his debut as a filmmaker with the production of the biographical drama Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, which is scheduled for release on July 1, 2022.
But is this his last project in the director’s chair?
The ambitious project that actor R Madhavan has been working on, titled Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, is almost ready for distribution. In addition to playing the lead part in the biographical drama, the actor also served as the film’s director, producer, and writer.
The film, which is based on Nambi Narayan, who worked as an aeronautical engineer and scientist with ISRO in the past, will debut in theaters on July 1, 2022. But, would this be R Madhavan, often known as Maddy’s last directorial effort?
During a recent interview, the filmmaker who used to be an actor dropped hints that this project could be his final one as a director.
The actor known for his role in Tanu Weds Manu describes the process of film making as “exhausting,” and he believes that he lacks the knowledge necessary to create films in a variety of genres. “I’m no Mani Ratnam…” he stated.
During the publicity for the next movie, Maddy divulged the following information: “I do not believe that I have it in me to direct another production at this time.
It’s a difficult process, and I don’t have any imminent intentions to direct anything in its current form. Even with Rocketry, the original director affiliated with the film had to leave the production owing to his other obligations, and because I didn’t have time to seek anybody else, I took up the mantle and directed the picture myself.
Because Mr. Nambi had faith in me, he encouraged me to apply for the position, and I did so because I felt it was my responsibility to do so.”
“My wife encourages me to concentrate on acting for the time being. I’m no Mani Ratnam, therefore don’t expect me to be able to comfortably create films in a variety of genres.
I don’t believe I’ll be able to pull it off. If I’m going to have to direct again, the tale has to have some significant impact on me “he remarked.
