Rahul Gandhi has been given complete security preparations. However, the Congress MP has violated security regulations 113 times since 2020, the CRPF stated.
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) stated that Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has violated security protocols 113 times since 2020, including during the Bharat Jodo Yatra in response to the allegations of security failures made by the Congress party, which the CRPF has rejected.
The response from the central forces came a day after the Congress general secretary KC Venugopal wrote to the Union Minister Amit Shah, alleging that the Delhi Police had entirely failed to guarantee Mr Gandhi’s protection during the Yatra as it passed through the Capital city.
The party requested appropriate protection for the leader, who has Z+ cover, as the yatra passes through the sensitive areas of Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir.
In response to Congress’s report, the CRF stated, that “Rahul Gandhi has been given complete security preparations. It may be noted that during visits of the protectee the appropriate security preparations are made by the CRPF in collaboration with state police and other agencies”.
The CRF also stated that the Delhi leg of Bharat Jodo Padyatra for 24th December ASL involving all stakeholders was conducted on Dec 22. On December 22, all participants in the Delhi leg of the Bharat Jodo Padyatra for the 24th of December Advance Security Liaison (ASL) participated.
An ASL refers to a meeting of security agencies to plan a VIP’s security for a major event. The Delhi Police confirmed that a significant amount of security officers had been deployed, and all security regulations had been strictly obeyed.

The CRPF said that Rahul Gandhi had regularly violated security protocol “When the protectee themselves follows the established security criteria, the security measures put in place for him or her function as intended. However, it is noted that Shri Rahul Gandhi has been found to have violated established rules several times, and this information has occasionally been shared with him.”
The central police also pointed out that the Congress MP has violated security regulations 113 times since 2020. It further stated that, the protectee had broken security rules during the Bharat Jodo Yatra’s Delhi leg and that the CRPF will handle this issue separately.
Whereas, Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra which was started from Kanyakumari on September 7 has covered 2,800 kilometres. He will resume his Bharat Jodo Yatra after a nine-day break from Hanuman Mandir in the Yamuna Bazar neighbourhood on January 3 and move towards Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh.
