It was a good combination of comedy, entertainment, and humor while maintaining the sensitivity of the topic
Recently Rajkumar Rao came In an interview with the urban nation where he talked about his recently released movie Badhaai Do. Where Rajkumar said that I enjoyed reading the script, I think it was a good combination of comedy, humor, entertainment, and some things that were so sensitive and emotional.
When I read the movie’s ending, I felt that it ended beautifully. So that is the reason for me to say yes to this movie.
Whereas the script was very well researched, our director Harsh and the writers Akshat and Suman worked on this skit for almost two and a half years. They were making sure that they involved people from the community so that they could take their feedback and put that in our script.
So, we shouldn’t go wrong anywhere in this film because we never wanted to hurt anyone’s sentiments. We want to make a sensitive film, which also talks about the problems, issues faced by people from the community, and how they live their lives. So for me, everything was in the script.
Harsh has worked so hard on the script that everything was pretty much there, so Hersh was, in a way, by one-point contact, and my character was the graph of my character; Harsh beautifully wrote the arc of my character in the story and the script itself.
So, we had reading sessions, we had workshops, and I had a lot of discussions with my director to explain to me exactly what he wanted out of me. That’s how when we started filming, we all were pretty much clear about what exactly we were supposed to do.
We had great moments while making this film, all of us, Bhumi, Harsh, and the whole team. We were just people who were having fun while filming, of course, you spent almost two months together with such a large group of people.
When everybody is on the same wavelength, it makes things so easy, so we lived like a family having so much fun together.
We ate together, cracking stupid jokes, and of course, whenever there were intense scenes or scenes high in emotions, we would give each other that space so that we could focus and perform it the way it is supposed to be. So, I think it was just a suitable theme for this film.
We are very hopeful because we have underlined this thought process, where people think it’s a disease and can be treated.
We have underlying that as well, and for that, I would suggest people go and watch our film because harsh has dealt with all these things so beautifully with so much sensitivity.
Whereas there are so many people from the community working in the industry, I think our sector never discriminates who you are if you know your job. If you’re good at your work, then welcome here, and we want the same thing to happen with them everywhere.
So, we all are so proud of the film because we all have seen it we all were making it and finally when we saw the movie, the things it’s trying to say and the messaging and comedy, everything has come out the way we always wanted it to be.
