Senior journalist Ravish Kumar on Saturday resigned from NDTV where he was working for decades. Kumar resigned from NDTV, amid the channel being taken over by the Adani Group. Last night, he took this step after Radhika Roy and her husband Pranay Roy both resigned from the director post of RRPR holding privately limited.
He is the senior journalist in the country and his resignation sparked murmurs of controversies, that now big media houses are being captured by government-linked businesses.
Ravish Kumar is Known for Ravish Ki Report program on NDTV
Journalist Ravish Kumar is very famous for his lightning program Ravish Ki Report. He is also known for ‘Desh Ki Baat’ and prime-time programs on NDTV. In response to his resignation, many other senior journalists tweeted that his voice is not that weak that can be suppressed.
He is well-known for hardcore journalism and is known for using facts in his statements. Many of his associates tweeted that Kumar does not need an air-conditioned hall or channel to read the news, he can read the news even in the bathroom. While some people on social media advised him to come on youtube or start his own channel.
Adani Group Going to takeover NDTV holding RRPR group
Adani group headed by Gautam Adani is set to acquire a majority of stakes in the NDTV as he acquires RRPR group which has 29% stakes. Yesterday, RRPR directors resigned but they are still having their part in NDTV.
Gautam Adani is very close to BJP and he is the richest person in India. BJP is very favorable to Adani group as he is favored in many projects handling. The Adani group opened its bidding on November 22 and the deal is said to be closed before December 5. Although, the price of NDTV is way too low as of its original price.
Ravish Kumar strong critic of the BJP and Narendra Modi
Ravish Kumar is very strong and one of the open critics of the PM Modi-led BJP government. He strongly advocates for people’s rights and always picks up issues that are mostly left by the BJP or other media houses to discuss.
