On Friday, Reliance announced the rollout of the Jio-Phone next it would be available before Diwali. Recently Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance announced that they would launch a low-priced smartphone developed with the help of google.
The smartphone was going to launch on September 10.
In June, a shareholder meeting of flagship Reliance Industries Ltd stated that JioPhone Next would be available on September 10, but somehow, they could not keep their promise.
The JioPhone Next has been designed in partnership with Google, and it is for those who want to upgrade from 2G to 4G connectivity. After announcing the timeline, the company did not reveal the pricing of the phone.
The statement said that Reliance Jio and Google had made considerable progress towards launching the much-awaited JioPhone Next, the made-for-India smartphone being jointly designed by the companies.
Jio-Phone Next will be the first-ever device featuring an optimized operating system based on Android and the play store.
The smartphone and the operating system will offer premium capabilities that have until now been associated with more powerful smartphones, including voice-first features that enable people to consume content and navigate the phone in their language, deliver a great camera experience, and get the latest Android feature and security updates, it said.
Both Reliance and google have begun testing the JioPhone Next with a limited set of users for further refinement and are actively working to make it available more widely in time for the Diwali festive season.
The Reliance also had said that this additional time would help mitigate the current industry-wide, global semiconductor shortages.
What can we Expect from this New Smartphone?
The JioPhone Next is built with exciting features like the Google Assistant, automatic read-aloud and language translation for any on-screen text, an intelligent camera with India-centric filters, and more.
The statement also added, “The companies remain committed to their vision of opening up new possibilities for millions of Indians, especially those who will experience the internet for the very first time.”
Jio, in the past, had launched a Keypad JioPhone, providing the users with the internet, youtube and many more features. It was a success.
According to its size and everything, it was pocket friendly. Launching a keypad phone was easy because of the limited features, but the big task for Jio was making a smartphone that had a lot of different parts with a pocket-friendly budget.
But Reliance, in collaboration with Google, has made it possible for people to explore the features of a smartphone who can’t afford to buy a smartphone.
The price of this phone is still undercover, so people are excited to see how much a Budget-friendly JioPhone will cost.
Jio, in the first place, made the available internet at a low price, so there a high chance that most Indian people will buy the phone and buy a Jio connection as it will be cheaper.
Reliance Jio’s motto is to switch nearly half a million people who still use a 2G network to a 4G network.
We can say it’s perfect for the country and the poor to get a 4G network, but making a Cheap smartphone and sailing it would be a task for the company.
If we take TATA as an example, we will notice that they had also launched Nano (the cheapest car) worth rupees 1 lakh.
Nano was not much of a success. at the start, people brought the cars, but the victory could not stay long.
Reliance has to look into the service and not just be a cheap intelligent phone sailing company; otherwise, the new JioPhone Next won’t survive in the market for long.
