In its preliminary accusations, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) asserts that actor Rhea Chakraborty got repeated supplies of cannabis from the co-accused, along with her brother and that these were sent to late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
The Central Anti-Drug Agency submitted charge sheet for 35 defendants before the Special Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) Court last month. Specifications of the original charges were made public on 12th July.
The draught allegations state that in between March to December of the year 2020, all of the offenders were certainly involved illegally to obtain, buy, transfer, and distribute narcotics substances to “Bollywood celebrities and elites.”
NCB further claimed that the Rhea Chakraborty had supported drug trade and used several illegal narcotics in the Mumbai Urban Core area without a doctor’s prescription or other authorization.
In light of this, all accused are charged in accordance with the submitted charges under the pertinent provisions of the NDPS Act, such as sections 27 and 27 A (financing illicit traffic and harboring offenders), 28 (punishment for attempts to commit crimes), and 29 (whoever aids in or is a party to a criminal conspiracy).
According to the drafted accusations, “accused Rhea Chakraborty collected many cannabis or marijuana deliveries from Several plaintiffs. She collected it from Samuel Miranda, Dipesh Sawant, and others and sent those supplies to the deceased actor Sushant Singh Rajput.” It also mentions that, it all happened between March and September of the year 2020. She paid payments for such supplies at the request of his brother and Sushant Sing Rajput.
The drafted accusations further read that, Rhea’s brother, often communicated with drug peddlers. He frequently got delivery from co-accused individuals after making orders for marijuana and hashish. Following which these packages reached the late actor Rajput.
Background of Sushant Singh Rajput Case
Actor Sushant Sing Rajput, who hailed from Bihar, passed away on June 14, 2020, Then the NCB launched its investigation into potential drug usage in the Bollywood and television business.
On June 14, 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput was discovered dead inside his Mumbai flat in Bandra. The tragic death of late Sushant Singh Rajput was a huge shock to the whole nation. Ever since, there have been several conspiracy theories circulating that say there were other causes for his passing.
Sushant’s father, Mr. K.K. Singh, lodged a complaint against his son’s girlfriend. Then Rhea Chakraborty got entangled in an unexpected turn of events. Situation escalated with thousands of fans demanding justice. Consequently, press tribunals, and the law interfered promptly. But eventually everything calmed down when it was established that the actor committed himself.
However, NCB detained the actor’s ex-girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty after 3 months on September 8. It laid over her several drug-related allegations at that time. She spent over a month in Byculla prison and Bombay HC released her on bail on October 8.
Along with Rhea, the agency also charged his brother, and a few others as defendants in the case. However, the majority of them released on bail subsequently.
After a few months, Sushant’s sister Shweta Singh Kirti revealed a letter that the actor wrote. This letter posted on Jan 12, 2021 was actually days back.
