On the website for the Royal Family, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were “demoted,” and they are now listed second-to-last under Members of the Royal Family. The pair had previously been placed midway between senior royals and minor royals. Prince Andrew is the only royal listed below the pair who has had his royal titles removed due to a sexual assault allegation, however, he maintains his innocence.
The Sussexes were formerly immediately beneath Prince William and Kate, who has become the Princess of Cornwall, according to the list of the royal family before relocating to the US. But now, the demotion is way huge. Other royals who have been moved about include the 80-year-old Prince Michael of Kent and his wife Marie-Christine, who are no longer working royals and have been taken off the website.
Recall that Harry and Meghan renounced their position as high ranking serving royals around 2020 and made a commitment to live independently. After relocating to California, they welcomed a daughter named Lilibet Diana and their son Archie Harrison. The pair has only visited the UK a few times, latest recently for Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral earlier this month.
Harry gained notoriety during the historic occasion when, despite having served in the military for ten years and having completed two deployments in Afghanistan, the Royal Family forbade him from donning his armor to the state burial. At the time, a representative for the Duke of Sussex asked the attention to be on the majesty instead of the Duke’s uniform. When the Queen’s great-grandchildren held a vigil, Harry was allowed to wear his uniform. He was not permitted to wear his dress uniform to the royal burial, resembling Prince Andrew (who had worked in the Forces), so he wore a mourning suit instead.
Prince Harry, who is currently fifth in line for the throne, is now ranked even lower than Princess Alexandra, the Queen’s cousin and the 56th person in line. Many people are not surprised by the demotion because Prince Harry and Meghan Markle retired from their roles as the functioning royals in 2020. After the “Megxit,” the couple appeared in a shocking interview to American talk show host Oprah Winfrey, in which the Duke and the Duchess exposed unsavory details about the British Royal family.
It should be noted that the pair has previously been demoted. After leaving their royal roles, their profiles were previously shifted below Princess Anne’s. The disclosure followed a royal expert’s suggestion that “heightening tensions” existed between Duke and Duchess of Sussex with King Charles III regarding the fate of their children’s royal titles.
With the issuance of a Letters Patent by King George V in 1917, the monarchy entered a new era with the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, having her great-grandchildren Archie and Lilibet officially assuming the titles of prince and princess, respectively. According to protocol, a monarch’s descendants and great-grandchildren are automatically given the titles HRH and prince or princess. The pair, however, worried that the King may revoke their titles “after his hesitation initially to acknowledge their heightened status after the Queen’s death,” according to Roya Nikkhah, royal editor of The Times.
According to a source close to the 73-year-old, the King might prevent his grandkids from using the titles Prince and Princess and His and Her Royal Highness due to Meghan and Harry’s planned initiatives. That Archie and Lilibet’s potential official recognition as Prince and Princess—titles that were due to them after Charles became King—was one of the more intriguing things revelations that came from all of this. They are still listed as “Miss” and “Master” on the Royal Website.
And I’m informed that the King is sending that as a very clear signal. He also said,  trust is the basis of sharing titles,  They must be confident in their ability to trust the Sussex family. The completion of the term of Royal Grief following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth was officially announced by the Royal Household on Tuesday.
The Royal Household Twitter account stated that it would continue to highlight the achievements of The Majesty, The queen  Consort, and other royal family Members, as well as commemorating the life and accomplishments of Queen Elizabeth.
