The Hindi dubbed Kannada folklore drama Kantara gets a good start at the box office. The film seems to have collected more than 10 crores and it soon will be included in the list of critically acclaimed films. The film was originally released in the regional language Kannada itself, but the makers identified the potential to do well and released the Hindi dubbed in the theatres as well. The ethnocentric curated film continues to break all the records till its fourth day at the box office, the collections and praises are quite evident.Â
The film started slowly in the first few days as it clashed with Anubhuti Kashyps’s Ayushmann Khurana and Rakul Preet starrer Doctor-G which seems to do quite well at the box office as well. Both the films were also clashing with Parineeti Chopra’s Code Name Tiranaga, but Kantara got ahead smoothly amongst all of them. Critics believe that the film is set to break all the worldwide records of the few previously released regional films and is now aiming high for another advent. The film will soon join the 100 crores club as well.
The story revolves around a fictional Karnataka village that deals with demigods and the dilemma between the protagonist and the antagonist. The movie depicts the concept of regional folklore and its importance in the generation.
The blend of all the actors seems to have created a perfect blend of emotions on the screen. Shetty has created magic on the screen and has impressed the audience with an edge-hooking storyline, talented star cast, and mind-blowing VFX. The film is getting positive reviews all over the globe and seems to raise the standards high for potential competitors.
Audiences were highly hooked to the plot and mesmerized by the concept of the film. According to the critics and IMDB rating, the film rating has jumped to 9.5/10 which seems to beat RRR and KGF-2. The film has jumped over all the hurdles and claimed a good position in the first week at the box office.
