The Incident occurred less than 24 hours after an SPDI Leader was killed in a village near Palakkad, Kerala.
On April 16th, 2022, an RSS leader, S.K Srinivasan (45), was hacked to death at around 1 PM in Melamuri, Palakkad.
Astonishingly, the massacre happened just a day after an SDPI activist was murdered the same way in Palakkad, Kerala. After obtaining information from the eyewitness, police said that the attackers reached the place of crime on their motorcycles. They parked their vehicles outside the victim’s shop, took out their wielded swords, stormed inside, and hacked Srinivasan several times before escaping.
According to BJP officials, the PFI was behind the attack. PFI, on the other hand, did not respond to the allegations. C. Krishna Kumar, BJP’s state general secretary and a prominent party official in Palakkad, claimed the PFI was behind the attack on Saturday.
“Police could not prevent the killing of the RSS worker when armed criminal gangs were roaming in the city. Yesterday, we already denied the role of our workers or any Sangh Parivar men in the killing of the PFI worker, “he said.

A very similar incident took place on Friday afternoon. A Subair, 44, a member of the SDPI, was hacked to death outside a mosque. Subair and his father were on a motorcycle when they were hit by a car, according to authorities. As they collapsed on the road, a group of men from another vehicle attacked Subair before fleeing the scene. His father, K Abubaker, was being treated in a hospital after being hit by a car and suffering injuries.
The PFI claimed that the murder was carried out by the RSS-BJP. The accusation was refuted by the BJP district leadership. KM Haridas, the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Palakkad, maintained that RSS outfits were not involved in the murder. He claimed personal enmity led to the killing and “no political angle” was involved.
The vehicle abandoned by Subair’s attackers was registered in the name of RSS worker S Sanjith, who was assassinated last November, allegedly by members of PFI and its political outfit, the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI).
Whereas Sanjith’s family claimed that the vehicle had been parked in a workshop before his death and that they had not received it since.
Another vehicle believed to have been used by Subair’s assailants was discovered abandoned. It was “rented” to a man called Rameshan, who has been missing since the event, according to police.
Subair’s death is described as a “political murder” in the FIR. Four RSS-BJP workers are being questioned after an alleged attack on a PFI employee last year.
Soon after the murder on Friday, police increased their patrols in the region, with Kerala Director General of Police Anil Kant directing all district police chiefs to take all necessary steps to prevent additional bloodshed. It’s tragic that a young man was killed while attending a festival (Vishu). “Killing is not part of politics and all should condemn such mindless acts,” A Prabhakaran, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) legislator from Malampuzha, said.
Five political workers have been killed in retaliatory attacks in the state in the last six months, including three from the RSS and two from the SDPI. On December 19, last year, two leaders, SDPI secretary AS Shan and BJP OBC Morcha state secretary Ranjith Sreenivasan, were hacked to death in Alappuzha in less than 12 hours.
