After the TV address of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the invasion by land, sea, and air began. But strategically starts operation by airstrike approximately 03:00 GMT, which cause gloom and doom in many cities across Ukraine.
And Russia has launched a significant attack on Ukraine from three main directions.
Russian’s airstrike
According to analysts, the primary purpose of the airstrike is to clear the way for ground forces to move amid the targets were positions in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Odesa, from three main directions such as north, east, and south.
As a result, Ukraine’s air defense and military infrastructure were attacked.
Airstrike from the north side
From the north side, the Russian army successfully crossed the border into Ukraine at the three-way junction between Ukraine, Russia, and Belarus, at Senkivka.
From last weeks, a massive operation of Russian military forces has gathered close to Troebortno, Novye, and Yurkovichi, including tanks and multiple launch rocket systems, are thought to be moving towards Chernihiv, on a direct path to Kyiv, confirmed by Michael Kofman of the US-based Center for Naval Analyses.
Later Ukrainian officials say that Russian helicopters have attacked their military airfield at Gostomel, west of Kyiv. Then a missile strike also hit the town of Brovary, east of Kyiv.
Airstrike from the east side
Russian tanks move from the east side to enter Ukraine’s second-largest city Kharkiv. Parts of the town have been covered.
Overnight, after that, big explosions and blasts were heard in Donetsk from the direction of Belgorod across the border. And there are thought to be about 15,000 Russian-backed separatists in Donetsk and Luhansk.
Strike from the south side
Russian troops have crossed from Crimea to the mainland in the south, towards Kherson, taking Chongar and Novo Alekseyevka.
They would be surrounded by Russian troops to their east, in Donetsk and Luhansk, north in Russia, and on the west bank of the Dnieper.
The troops attack across the region at night, including Kherson, Mariupol, Odesa, and Melitopol.
Russia had already positioned landing ships capable of deploying main battle tanks, armored vehicles, and personnel off the Ukrainian coast in a significant build-up in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
