Ukraineโs air-defense strategies blocked Russian missiles across the nation on Tuesday morning, though strikes in the southeastern Zaporizhzhia region left at least one person dead, according to provincial governors.

On Monday, Russia started a series of deadly attacks on cities across Ukraine, hitting countries capital, Kyiv. The deadliest strikes against citizens and infrastructure havenโt been seen in recent days. President Vladimir Putin mentioned in a television interview that the Russian military launched the strike as revenge for the explosion at Cremia bridge. Putin pledged a โchallengingโ and โproportionateโ should Ukraine bring out further attacks that threaten Russiaโs security. โNo one should have any suspicion about it,โ he told the Russia security council by video.
The explosions came hours after Putin first charged Ukraine with “terrorism” over the huge blast that harshly damaged the bridge connecting Russia and annexed Crimea on Saturday, negotiating a strategic and symbolic blow to his movement. Kyiv has not taken accountability for the happening, which the Russians said killed at least 3 people and was caused by a truck bomb.
A series of losses on the battleground and the messy call-up of hundreds of thousands of military reservists have led to growing criticism of the Kremlin at home, with some prominent figures urging escalation to switch the course of the conflict. Ukraine was braced for vengeance, which soon came.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky cited these attacks are merely to kill people and to knock out Ukraineโs power grid. The Ukrainian Prime Minister informed that 11 major major infrastructure targets were hit in 8 regions, leaving the country with no electricity.
