Ukrainian President urges the world leaders to help the country as Russia conducts a full-blown military operation against Ukraine; Russian Troops move into Kyiv.
On Thursday, 24 February 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin had launched a “military operation” against Russia and had mentioned that the operation would continue until the Ukrainian troops lay down their arms. Russian Defense Ministry on Friday had said that they had captured a 7 km radius around the city of Kyiv and had landed their paratroopers in a strategic area around the Hostomel aerodrome.
They added that the Russian military had taken down 200 people of the Ukrainian Special Units and blocked the city from the west. The separatist forces of Ukraine had attacked from the east with Russian support. The Russian military also clarified that they would not be attacking the residential areas of Kyiv. Â
In this regard, Moscow mentioned that they had accomplished all their goals by destroying 83 military installations of Ukraine. They also confirmed that Russia had conducted 203 attacks on its western counterpart since the beginning of the day.
The western countries have not yet taken a firm step towards stopping the Russian aggression. Still, instead, they resorted to a moderate approach by imposing heavy sanctions on Russian Banks and other import and export companies.
The trade markets in Ukraine have also taken a massive dive in the last few days, and investors have lost around 13 lakhs during the ongoing crisis.  Â
Ukrainian President on Thursday had also urged the world community to help Ukraine with the supply of defense equipment amid the ongoing crisis. He also urged countries like Canada and other members of NATO to impose further massive sanctions on Russia to stop this aggression.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres made appeals to stop the war and that the protection of civilians is the “No.1 priority” at this moment. He has urged the Russian President to give peace a chance to put an end to the rising death toll in the country. Â
Moving forward, the Russian government had said that Moscow would be ready to initiate talks with Ukraine only when they had laid down their arms and mentioned that the conquering forces were determined to free the country from “oppressive” troops in the country.
The crisis has also created huge panic amongst the people in Ukraine. Footages of people leaving the country and traveling to Poland by car have surfaced all across the country.
