Sunil Gavaskar, a former Indian legend, slammed the Indian Chief Selectors for passing over Sarfaraz Khan for the West Indies Tour. Sarfaraz Khan, who has been playing outstanding domestic cricket and now has a batting average of 82 in the Ranji Trophy, is once again denied the Indian cap. He is only above of Sachin Tendulkar and Vijay Merchant, who average 98.35 and 87.37 points, respectively.

Sarfaraz Khan
Sarfaraz Khan competes for Delhi Capitals in the IPL and Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy. At the age of just 17 years and 177 days, Sarfaraz Khan made his IPL debut for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2015. He was kept on by the Franchise for the next Season. When he played Harris Shield and beat the legendary Sachin Tendulkar’s record by scoring 439 off 421 deliveries, he became the talk of the town.
The innings was noteworthy since he was only 12 years old, and it contained 56 fours and 12 sixes. His reliability led to his selection for the U-19 Indian Team. He cost RCB $5 million to purchase. In the annals of the U-19 Cricket World Cup, he holds the record for the most half centuries ever. 2014 and 2016 were his two U-19 World Cup appearances.
Throughout his whole cricket career, Sarfaraz Khan has been embroiled in a variety of issues, and various disciplinary measures have been taken against him. In a U-19 game during the 2014–15 season, he made some impolite gestures towards a group of selectors. He recently waved his index finger at Chetan Sharma, the former head selector of the Indian Cricket Team, during the celebration of his century in Ranji tournament.
Sarfaraz Khan has scored 2566 runs, which is impressive, in the last three Ranji seasons. One of the reasons Sarfaraz Khan was not chosen by the selectors was his level of fitness. He currently plays for Delhi Capitals, however given Sarfaraz Khan’s angry form, this year’s performance was also lacking.

BCCI selection criteria is one of the reasons of India’s failure
The BCCI Chief Selectors’ degree of selection has never been widely known. Ambati Rayudu was dropped soon before the World Cup in 2019, when everything was going well for him, by M. S. K. Prasad, the previous head of the Selection Committee, who said that Vijay Shankar gave India 3 Dimension Characteristics. Prior to the World Cup, Ambati Rayudu won the Asia Cup’s Man of the Tournament award.
There was even more criticism now when Indian leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was left off the 15-man selection for the T20 World Cup in 2021. Chahal was India’s best bowler at the time in the condensed version of the game.
The choice to include Suryakumar Yadav, who is currently the top T20 batter, late in the Indian Team was also criticized by many former Indian cricketers as well as many foreign players. Since his debut, Suryakumar Yadav has excelled, notably in T20 matches. In the shorter form of the game, he amassed 3 centuries in just 6 months with a respectable strike rate.
The biggest letdown for the BCCI is Sanju Samson’s exclusion from the Indian Team. Samson deserves a lengthy rope given his successful domestic record, timing, and shot-making ability. Samson has improved his ability to keep wickets over the previous few years
