Lucknow: According to the release, the ‘School Chalo Abhiyan’ is being started in Uttar Pradesh from Shravasti district which has the lowest literacy rate in the state followed by Bahraich, Balrampur, Badaun and Rampur.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will launch the ‘School Chalo Abhiyan’ from Shravasti district on Monday to ensure 100 per cent enrolment in primary and upper primary schools in Uttar Pradesh. An official release issued here stated that this will be an effort by the state government towards shaping the future of primary education and holistic development of primary schools.
It stated that the Chief Minister has instructed officials that districts with low literacy rate should be prioritised and primary schools in the state should be equipped with better facilities. Aiming at giving schools a facelift, government schools must achieve all the goals of ‘Operation Kayakalp’ according to Chief Minister Mr. Yogi Adityanath.
According to the instructions given by Yogi Adityanath, all public representatives, who will be associated with the campaign, members of the legislative assembly (MLAs) must adopt one school each. In addition to this, the officials should also adopt the schools for their holistic development.
Basic facilitues such as toilets, drinking water, furniture and ‘smart’ classes should be provided to the students as instructed by the Chief Minster. Further directions have been issued to the Basic Education Department to gear up for the campaign and ensure the deployment of teachers in all state-run schools.
