On February 10th, Thursday, Karnataka High Court adjourned the hearing till February 14th in the Hijab issue petition. Comprising Chief Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi and two other judges, A three-judge bench of the Karnataka High Court, had begun hearing petitions on the issue of hijab Thursday afternoon.
In this case, the Supreme Court had dismissed a prayer to pressing transfer the issues from the high court to the apex court before the day. On Wednesday, the state cabinet decided to await the court verdict before taking any major decision on the Hijab issue.
Of course, Kamal Pant, the Bengaluru police commissioner, has promulgated prohibitory orders under section 144 of the CrPC. The order is passed for two weeks from Wednesday onwards till February 22nd.
It is against any gathering, agitation, or any type of protests within the area of a 200-meter radius from the gates of any educational institutions like schools, pre-university colleges, degree colleges, or other similar institutions in Bengaluru City.
