A drunk man on Delta Air Lines groped a 16- year-old girl and her mom as the flight attendants “ blatantly ignored ” pleas for help, court documents purport.
In the proceeding filed in the Eastern District of New York, the plaintiff alleges that the airline staff continued to serve liquor to the man passenger indeed though he was visibly drunk, reported Fox News.
The airline indeed allowed the drunk man to exit the airplane in Athens without cautioning the authorities about the contended sexual assault.
The unidentified man was served at least 10 vodka drinks and a glass of wine on the nine- hour-long flight from New York to Athens.

The inebriated being was seated next to the complainants and allegedly tried to engage in discussion with the 16- year-old. As the girl ignored him, according to the report, the man got aggressive towards her and started yelling.
The plaintiff has claimed that the man asked for the girl’s particular information, including her address, and made “ stag gestures ”.
When the girl’s mom interposed and informed him that her daughter was a minor still in high school, he callously disregarded her plea.
He indeed reached over the girl and pulled on her mom’s arm, reported Fox News. The man began yelling loudly at them and when the women reported the man’s crapulous actions to the flight attendants, they were met with apathy and advised to” be patient”, according to the report.
The man allegedly continued touching the minor again while mumbling incoherently and vigorously kicking the seats in front of them.
Despite the repeated pleas from the mom- daughter duo, the head flight attendant only mediated by telling the man to cease communication with them.
This infuriated the man who allegedly started abusing the victims. Seeking comfort, the alarmed teenage girl buried her head in her mom’s lap, but to their dismay, the man allegedly took advantage of the situation by sliding his fritters under the girl’s shirt, trying to grope her bra strap.
The teen, petrified, and in tears, rapidly jumped out of her seat and separated herself from the man, as mentioned in the proceeding. The man went on to place his hand on the mom’s leg and allegedly moved his hand up the inside of her thigh. The woman screamed and also jumped out of her seat.
The mom again demanded to change their seats but the flight attendants acted helplessness saying there was nothing they could do, still, another male passenger contributed to switch seats with the teen girl and sat between the enraptured man and her mom for the rest of the flight, reported Fox News.
After the landing, the flight attendants offered the woman and her daughter 5,000 free airline miles and an reason. It isn’t justified for a man to touch a girl inappropriately on a flight, and it’s even more concerning that the flight staff reportedly failed to respond to the victims’ pleas for help.
Action against drunk man wasn’t taken
Sexual assault is a serious crime and should never be tolerated under any circumstances. The responsibility of flight attendants and airline staff is to ensure the safety and well- being of passengers, and they must take immediate action to protect individuals from harm or harassment.
Offering money as compensation after such an incident is inadequate and doesn’t address the severity of the trauma caused to the victims.
Proper measures, including reporting the incident to the authorities and conducting a thorough investigation, should be taken to ensure justice is served and to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
