Taapsee Pannu is thrilled to represent HERSTORY in this Gentlemen’s sport. Taapsee dropped the teaser of her upcoming sports film Shabaash Mithu. The film is based on the life of cricketer Mithali Raj, captain of the Indian women’s cricket team. Taapsee is soaked in the character of Mithu completely and fans are impressed with it.
The teaser begins with commentary in a crowded stadium while Taapsee (Mithali) enters the stadium with Mithali written on the blue jersey numbered 3.
The teaser features the records made by the Indian skipper in her 23 years of cricketing career. She is the only Indian cricketer to score seven consecutive 50s in ODIs, the youngest player to score 200 in a Test match and four-time captain in World Cup. Watch the teaser of Shabaash Mithu

Earlier, Taapsee’s film was about to be released on February 4 this year but with the clash of her Looop Lapeta, Shabaash Mithu got postponed. Taapsee shared the new poster on Women’s Day holding a bat and helmet in one hand each.
Shabaash Mithu is directed by Rahul Dholakia, also stars Vijay Raaz in a prominent role. The film will feature the journey of Mithali Raj, her highs and lows, crucial moments and important achievements in life. Her struggle from History to HERSTORY in the Gentlemen’s game, Shabaash Mithu is the unheard story of Women in Blue.
Shabaash Mithu is the first Hindi feature film to be made on a woman cricketer. Anushka Sharma starrer Chakda Xpress made on Jhulan Goswami is the second cricketing film made on woman cricketers which are to be released on Netflix later this year.
