Shahrukh Khan has once again made India proud by being the part of the list of 50 Greatest Actors of all Time.

There is no doubt that the title ‘King of Bollywood’ is very much suitable for Shahrukh Khan. He has earned this title by his hard work and determination.


The King Khan never fails to make India and Indians proud both nationally and internationally. And once again he has made his fans all happy by making it to the list of 50 Greatest Actors of all Time. He is the only Indian actor to be in that list.

Shahrukh Khan’s Career

Shahrukh Khan was born on November 2 in 1965. His father was very much active during the Indian Independence movements. His father was a follower of Abdul Ghaffar Khan and was affiliated with Indian National Congress.

Shahrukh Khan during his school days was an active participant in sports and he wanted to make his career in the mentioned field, however he suffered from a shoulder injury in his initial days and was not able to play any further.

He pursued his Bachelor’s degree in economics from Hansraj College, during which he was inclined towards acting and became active in theatre. He started pursuing his Master’s degree in mass communication from Jamia Milia Islamia, which he left in between to pursue his acting career.

Shahrukh Khan acted in various telivision series in his initial days and he was not ready to make his acting debut in Bollywood because he thought that he is not that good yet. After the death of his mother, he moved to Mumbai to pursue acting as his full-time career. He was signed for 4 films in the initial phase of his career. Deewana became his debut film in which he worked with Divya Bharti and Rishi Kapoor, he even won ‘Filmfare Best Male Debut Award’.

He in his entire career played variety of roles. Where he played villainous roles in movies like ‘Baazigar’ and ‘Darr, he also established himself as the most romantic hero of Bollywood by playing the romantic roles in movies like ‘Dilwale Dulhania le Jayenge’ and ‘Mohabbatein’.

It was not all rainbows and sunshine for our King Khan, even he faced a phase where his movies were not doing well on box office and critics were saying that Shahrukh Khan has lost his charm. But Khan proved all of them wrong by again giving hit films like before. According to him ‘Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gum’ was a turning point in his life.

His movies ‘Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gum’, ‘Mohabbatein’, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ and ‘Devdas’ were released in the starting of 2000s and did exceptionally well. He even won ‘Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor’ for his movie ‘Mohabbatein’.

He kept on entertaining his fans with blockbuster movies like ‘My Name is Khan’, ‘Veer Zara’, ‘Dilwale’, ‘Om Shanti Om’ and ‘Chak De! India’. He even hosted game shows on telivision and various award shows.

Awards and Recognitions

Shahrukh Khan has acted in more than 80 films and has been nominated for around 30 times in Filmfare.

He won 14 Filmfare Awards from which 8 were for Best Male Actor. He has been awarded with Padma Shri by the Government of India. Not only this he has been honoured with the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the fifth degree of the French Legion of Honour, the Chevalier Légion d’honneur, presented to him by the Government of France.

Shahrukh Khan is all set to entertain his fans with his upcoming movie, ‘Pathaan’, in which he is casted opposite Deepika Padukone.

He is the only India actor who is able to secure a spot in the list of 50 Greatest Actors of all Time. Actors like Denzel Washington, Tom Cruise and Leonardo DiCaprio are also included in this list.
