Shailesh Lodha left the longest-running show on Indian TV, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah earlier this year.
When Shailesh Lodha resigned from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah earlier this year, fans of the show were shocked. Lodha played a major role in the longest-running TV show on Indian television, but the reason why left the show has never been explicitly stated.
It was implied that Lodha was unhappy with the exclusive deal he had to sign with the show’s creators, leaving her no time to pursue other opportunities.
In a recent chat with Siddharth Kannan, Shailesh opened up about working on the show. for over 14 years and said he was attached to it. Speaking in Hindi, he said, “We Indians are emotional people, so we’re attached to everything, there’s no doubt about that.” Shailesh continued, “I’m an emotional person. In fact, I call myself Emotional Idiots. I’m a sentimental fool. Bonding is natural. And if you do something for 14 years, it will happen.
When asked the reason for his resignation, Shailesh recited a “sher” from Bashir Badr. “Kuch Toh majbooriyan Rahi hongi, Yun hi koi bewafa nahi hota” which can be loosely translated as “There must be a reason, people don’t leave without a reason”.” Shailesh added, “It’s not like I won’t reveal why I left the show. I will say it, but only when the time is right“.
When Shailesh left the show, a source told the media, “Shailesh feels his character has been lost in the crowd. Even though he gave his dates, he doesn’t have much to do.
Now that the pandemic is over his kavi sammanans have started again and he is quite busy.He recently told the production company that he doesn’t want to continue. Shailesh is no longer filming and holding her own.
The creators of TMKOC hired Sachin Shroff to replace Shailesh Lodha. Shailesh quit a Hindi poetry show called Wah Bhai Wah after leaving the Sony SAB show.
