The accused were placed in judicial detention immediately after being taken into custody.
Once again, humanity has been out to shame another rape case, another girl, and another headline. Again, a minor girl got raped in India, which saddened and shocked the country. All of this has become so common in our country. The number of rape cases is constantly increasing in India, and we have only one question when will we stop hearing such news.
Even educated people are becoming criminals indulging in gruesome crimes like rapes. Even though we are progressing, rape cases are still making headlines in our country.
Six boys raped a minor girl in Karnataka’s Dharwad. The case came into light when the girl’s father reported the crime in Shahar Police Station on 26 December.

According to the reports, the girl was in love with a minor boy in her neighbourhood who had forceful physical relations with the girl.
According to the police, it was revealed in the preliminary questioning the girl was in a private moment with the lover. The accused made a video of their intimate moment and blackmailed the girl into making the video viral.
The charge then raped her for three months and threatened to reveal this to her parents and face dire consequences if she told anyone about it. The accused confessed to raping the girl at different locations.
They also shared the video among their contacts which went viral. After taking the boys into custody, they were sent to a remand home, where they were being questioned.
The police are still investigating the case. The boys the Laxmisingankeri district by the police, the investigation team, did not reveal the boys’ names as they were minors. The police also ordered the girl’s medical test, awaiting reports.
Rape cases are increasing each day, raising questions on women’s safety in our country. Also, India ranks top in the list of most raped countries in the world, which is a matter of shame as even being educated, we are illiterate to commit such crimes and not make women feel safe and secure.
