Duffer Brothers announced that an animated series based on the popular show ‘Stranger Things will be coming on Netflix. Animated series is a part of the ‘Stranger Things universe.
As part of its ambitions to turn the popular series “Stranger Things” into an extensive franchise, Netflix is now working on an animated series set in the sci-fi universe of the show. In a statement posted on Monday, Netflix announced the series but provided very little information, including no title or premiere date.
Almost all information regarding the program is being kept under wraps, except for the knowledge that Eric Robles and Flying Bark Productions created it.
Stranger Things Universe
In July 2022, Netflix revealed plans for a live-action spinoff series and a stage production, and the Duffers had just started their own production house, Upside Down Pictures. In addition, series adaptations of Stephen King’s ‘The Talisman and ‘Death Note’ are in the works.
The Duffers have already stated that the live-action spinoff won’t concentrate on characters like Eleven or Steve Harrington, although there are currently no specifics known about it. The stage production would take place in Hawkins in 1959 and make its debut in London’s West End, which was started in March 2024.
In a statement, The Duffers said that the series, like the live-action show, will be heavily influenced by media from the 1980s. They highlighted their recollections of watching “Saturday morning cartoons” as children as inspiration for the new project. The release also used the phrase “the adventure continues,” which might be interpreted to suggest that the animated program will take place after the events of “Stranger Things 5.” It’s unknown if the “Stranger Things” animated series would follow suit and use the voices of Winona Ryder as Joyce or Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven due to the lack of casting announcements for the project.

This premier science fiction series on Netflix, follows a group of teenagers and a few of their parents as they confront a sinister secret that is hidden beneath the sleepy town of Hawkins, Indiana. Eleven, a girl with telekinetic abilities who may hold the key to rescuing the planet, is portrayed by Millie Bobby Brown.
The Duffer Brothers predicted that Season 5 will go off at a 100-mph clip after the fourth season, racing past the usual joyful normalcy that opens each season. They added that many of the dynamics that were highlighted in the first season would be present in the series’ final season, while star Noah Schnapp noted in an interview with Forbes that the show “started with Will, and it’ll end with Will.” Schnapp claims that Season 5 of the show will start production in May and that Jim Hopper’s actor David Harbour anticipates returning to the set in June.
