Let’s take a look at the Easter eggs hidden in the trailer.
- A creepy clock is shown in two different places; Max finds it in the Hawkins school and the other is in an unknown place, which may be in the Upside Down. The clock may represent the time in both real life and the Upside-down to call a war against each other.
- The poster for the series shows that they are divided into four different groups, going in four different directions to the same upside-down split in the lab of Hawkins. Eleven is the only one going alone in a straight line, while others are in groups. This leads to another release of an easter egg.
- Eleven is taken to a prison in a van saying, “Prison Transport.” She might be taken back to the Hawkins lab. Meanwhile, Mike is perplexed and saddened as he watches Eleven leave. The lab might take us back into the flashbacks of Eleven, as she expresses that she lost her power, which may have been shown at the start of this season.
- The trailer shows that they are going to the same school while accompanying Eleven with them like a normal girl. While Max is explaining the situation to Billy, who is in a grave, she says “normal” and the screen displays “Eleven,” while she waves at a girl and gets ignored. This shows that Eleven is still not accepted by anyone, other than her close friends. This may also indirectly hint to the viewers that she is not normal and that she has a lot of powers and strengths to fight against the supernatural villains of the show.
- Billy, the elder brother of Max, will be found dead in this season, as the trailer starts with Max complaining and worrying about the worsening situation that is taking place after his death. Max reads a letter and says, “Dear Billy, I don’t know if you can even hear this. Ever since you left, everything’s been a total disaster.” Then she continues to talk to him as the trailer goes by.
- The famous American actor, Robert Englund, who is well known around the world for his role as Freddy Kreuger in the movie series, “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” is starring in this show. In this season, he appears as a man with his eyes taken out of him. His presence in this series might give the audience a strong 80s nostalgic sense. His appearance might have a powerful impact on the storyline.
- We can also see Nancy and Steve united and fighting with the antagonist in the upside-down world. There is a scene in which a mysterious young boy plays guitar upside down, possibly to clear the disturbances caused by the bats flying over their heads. The unknown character raises a high level of curiosity and excitement among the fans.
- In the first season, they play D&D 1983 Expert Edition, which causes a disaster and a problem. The reference from the movie Dungeons & Dragons is used for the character Mind Flayer. In the movie, there is a scene in which a book is shown with a skull that got hit by thunder. The main villain of Stranger Things is almost made up of the skull from Dungeons & Dragons. Thunder is shown in this series as well, in two colors, red and blue.
- The series Stranger Things is set in the period of the 1980s, during which the Cold War was also going on between the United States and the Soviet Union. A scene in the trailer shows a war, which represents the Cold War. Meanwhile, in the upside-down, they are also fighting with the Mind Flayer. In addition to this, Hopper, who was misunderstood by the audience as he was dead, will be found in Russia, and Will’s mother will set off to Russia to save Hopper in a little airplane, as shown in the trailer. This season of Stranger Things contains a lot of secret messages about the upside-down world and the real-life world.
