Drugs issue raised by Suniel Shetty
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath talked about the film “Seeti” which is being made in Uttar Pradesh during a meeting with famous faces of Bollywood industry in Mumbai on 5 January.
Many big faces like Suniel Shetty, Kailash Kher, Subhash Ghai, Jackie Shroff, Sonu Nigam, Ravi Kishan and Boney Kapoor were involved in this meeting. Suniel Shetty in conversation with CM Yogi discussed drug consumption in the Bollywood industry.
Talking about drugs, Suniel Shetty said, “90% Bollywood stars do not take drugs, they work hard and reach out to the audience and their fans. #Boycott Bollywood tag should be removed so that the bad image of Bollywood in the eyes of people can be improved”.
He further said that “it is very important to take off this boycott tag, like if one apple is spoiled in a basket, then it spoils the rest of the apples, even in Bollywood, every person is not bad, only because of some people the image of others is also hurt. There is a great need to remove the stigma of Boycott on Bollywood, please take this issue to Prime Minister Narendra Modi”.
Taking the conversation forward, Suniel Shetty said, “The stage I am at today is because of my fans and many people of Uttar Pradesh, the way people gather in theaters after my movies releases, by seeing such a crowd we can understand that now our film will run”. He said, “Yogi ji if you try, you can take the disgrace of this boycott trend from us, it is very important for us that this disgrace on us should be removed”.
Suniel Shetty further said,”It is very sad to think that we have this stigma while 90% of actors in the Bollywood industry are clean and work hard, they don’t sit the whole day taking drugs nor do any wrong thing. If our country India is somehow connected to outside countries, it is because of our stories and the music of the Bollywood industry. If you take the initiative then this stigma can be removed from us, please take this issue to PM Modi and help us”.
Director Boney Kapoor and Subhash Ghai also expressed their views
Boney Kapoor said that “The film industry is comfortable shooting in Mumbai, but Yogi ji has made Uttar Pradesh a crime-free state, due to which there is no problem in shooting now. I have shot two of my films in Uttar Pradesh earlier and would love to shoot my upcoming films there as well”.
After Boney Kapoor and Suniel Shetty, director Subhash Ghai also expressed his views in front of Yogi ji about the emphasis on education. You are talking about infrastructure, which is good, but education is the aspect of all these things, education is very important so that Uttar Pradesh state does not need to call talented people from outside in future”.
