Sunny Deol in “The Show of Ranveer” revealed that he wanted to start Border 2 on 2015. But, as the film was flopped back then, the makers and himself were scared of it being flop or not liked by audience again. Border film was in 1997, Hindi- language film which was directed by J. P. Dutta. It’s a war film back then, set on the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. Based on the real events happened while the Battle of Longewala 1971.
Sunny Deol stated that “earlier they wanted to start Border 2 but into a franchises, though they were not confident about then but, as Gadar 2 succeeded they earn the audience belief again and had a strong feeling over to start Border 2 again.”
But there is still no update over new projects, to be taken by Sunny Deol yet after Gadar 2.
In the Ranveer Show – Sunny Deol’s exact words over starting Border 2 was “I’ve heard that too, though we planned to start earlier in 2015, but when it released back then, it didn’t work that way and flopped, this reason made all of us scared on the fact about, reprise iconic character and the film itself to the audiences.” The whole statement was made in Hindi over Podcast. Lastly he added – “now everyone wants to make it after the grand success of Gadar 2.”

Sunny Deol in recent times, recalls his past days when ‘Gadar’ released in 2001. Sunny said after Shooting ‘Gadar’ he didn’t get any work further, as that time studios were coming up it was all becoming Bollywood and our Hindi-cinemas went off then. Though even after so long years when ‘Gadar 2’ released people were out of control.
Contradicting the fact in 2001 ‘Gadar’ had released side by side of ‘Lagaan’ directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and had bigger hit than lagaan itself. He mentioned that his real struggle being after his unimaginable blockbuster hit, before that he didn’t had any issues.
So the main reason was of the industry turning to ‘Bollywood’ previously ‘Hindi Film Industry.’ Then everything was calculated quarterly and the corporates were taking over. After which Sunny Deol interests only to the new filmmakers and didn’t collaborated with big people, companies etc.
Instead he sticks to the same peoples and his very happy to see those ones with him now, which is really uplifting for him as well.
