I spent quite a few years when I was looking for work
Recently Tahir Raj Bhasin gave an exclusive interview on PINKVILLA with host Himesh Manked where; the first thing that Himesh asked Tahir was, how does it feel heaving three OTT and one Theatrical release in three months.
Where Tahir said that it feels mad because if someone asked me today what am I shooting for so, I have been shooting for promotion, for the past, like one month now I wake up in the morning there is like you get up, go to the photographs and then you start promoting films or the next thing that is releasing. Â
But jokes apart, it is a happy problem like every actor dreams for the day when an audience is waiting to see the next thing that comes out. I am fortunate that many stars have aligned in such a way that all of these four things have been released in this short span and are so diverse from each other.
You can not make a film 83 and film and film Yeh Kaali Kaali Aaakhe and start comparing the two in terms of parts or terms of genres. So it is fantastic to be able to show that kind of diversity. Â
Himesh (host) also asked Tahir Raj Bhasin to say something about his process of getting into the characters. Where replied to him by saying that I think the process is from finding the essence, like the character’s soul.
The calmness that you are talking about has a lot to do with the fact that Sunil Gavaskar played in film 83. If you look at the age of the actors who roles cast in 83, then there is not much difference between me and say a Saqib or Hardy but as far as Sunil Gavaskar was concerned.
He was the most celebrated, and he was the poster boy for the Indian cricket team. So, to bring that seniority in me with the actors in that film and the contemporaries who are the same age as you, there was that gravity, that silence that needed to be worked on these things.Â
So that was the process that went behind Sunil Gavaskar. But if we look at a Loop Lapeta, there is no calm in Satya. It is like completely 180 degree opposite, so it depends from part to part, but the challenge is finding the most human, the most relatable thing, or what makes that character significant.
The host also asked Tahir how he defined Hero or the Hero in your world. Tahir said that a hero in my world or the film world holds the audience’s hands and entertains them. Take them through the journey of that roller coaster ride, that when the audience is experiencing the film, experience that moments through the characters experience that for me is the Hero.Â
The most challenging thing for me would be in the film Mardaani. Pearly because it was the first role, there was so much heaving to prove myself. It was also very different and, so far, removed from my comfort zoom. I
am a romantic like simple guy in real life, but to play something or someone who is in the shadow, on the phone call constantly at like for surveillance and seeing what he is following, it looks a while to get into the skin of that character
