Selectors announce team India for the upcoming world cup t20i: Ashwin gets the call, Bishnoi and Iyer miss out

Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel make a comeback after having cleared their fitness test.

Indian Selectors on Sunday selected the team for the world cup t20 that is to be held in Australia. There are not many surprise selections as the core of the group was already set.

Selectors have persisted with Rishabh Pant despite his bad run of form in the shortest form of cricket. Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel make a comeback after having cleared their fitness test.

On the other side, despite his reasonably good outcomes, Ravi Bishnoi has found no place for himself. Shreyas Iyer too didn’t get picked up.

However, both of them are selected as standby players along with Shami and Chahar. Ravindra Jadeja misses out due to an injury during Asia Cup.

Dinesh Karthik was very ecstatic after getting selected for the upcoming world cup. Having missed out on the last world cup. DK, as he is fondly called showed tremendous form in this year’s IPL for RCB. He scored 330 runs, averaging 55 with a tremendous strike rate of 183.33.

Shami and Chahar get selected for the t20is against Australia, South Africa

The standbys for WT20, Shami and Chahar get a call for the six t20is to be played against Australia and South Africa. Mohammed Shami last played t20Is against Namibia in last year’s world cup. They replace Arshdeep and Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Hardik Pandya, who will be sent to NCA for the conditioning. Bhuvi and Hardik will play the t20is against Australia while Arshdeep will play against South Africa.
