The resolution was supported by the Congress party Legislative Leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and AIMIM party leader Ahmed Balala here on Tuesday.
Telangana Industries and Information Technology Minister, Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao a.k.a. KTR said “BR Ambedkar is an ideal choice for naming the newly constructed parliament complex, who has been the chairman of the constitution drafting committee”.
Principles of Ambedkar regarding Telangana
Mr Rao added, “ If there has no provision for Article 3 in the Indian constitution, the formation of new states would not have been possible”. During the 14-year-long struggle to achieve Telangana State, the Cadre of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and Chief Minister of Telangana Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao followed the principles of BR Ambedkar, He said.
The Government of Telangana adopted the ideas of Ambedkar in performing welfare activities and working for the improvement of weaker sections’ livelihoods. A person of such calibre would be ideal for the new parliament building complex to be named after”, KTR added.
The centre has planned to conduct the Parliament Winter Session in the new building complex. So far no naming has been done to the parliament building complex.
KTR further said, “Ambedkar all his life worked for equality among people and stood against all sorts of discrimination existing in the country”.
