A terrorist fold was unearthed, misleading the youth and enticing them into joining terrorist ranks.
In Baramulla, the police, along with the army’s 29 RR, have succeeded in rescuing five youths and two juveniles from joining terrorist ranks.
The Baramulla police have cracked down on a fortress with the 29th Regiment of the Army and rescued 5 youths and 2 juveniles (identities protected), according to a statement.
It was learned that some youngsters were enticed by terrorist officials from Pakistan to join terrorist organizations. On the basis of the given input, security forces first traced their location and were later subjected to sustained questioning through their parents, the police added.
On the youths’ disclosure, it was learned that these individuals got in touch with these terror recruiters through social media, the terror recruiters were based in Pakistan, as per the statement.
The terrorists were trying to radicalize these boys. The youngsters have now been handed over to their parents after proper counselling.
On Tuesday, the security forces cracked down on a terrorist recruitment program in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir that was being run by terror handlers based in Pakistan. The program was running through social media, said a senior police official.
“5 youths along with 2 juveniles were rescued, counseled, and handed over to their parents in the Pattan area of Baramulla district,” as told to reporters by SSP Amod Nagpure in Pattan.
He said the police, with the help of the Army, have unearthed the module in which Pakistani recruiters were luring the youths into joining the terrorists’ ranks and committing anti-government activities against the Government of India.
Nagpure spoke to the press and said, “While the security forces are well-equipped in their resolve to defeat the nefarious designs of the enemy, parents should also keep an eye on their children and should take care of them in their activities and help the police by cooperating with us”.

Police to utilise modern technology
The DGP issued directions for investigation, looking for other angles besides the involvement of anti-national elements and terrorism. He emphasized utilizing modern technology and human intelligence to monitor the movements of suspects on the border and in the hinterland.
He also issued stringent actions on individuals providing any assistance or support to terrorist activities in executing a cowardly attack.
Directions are being issued to further strengthen the dominion by conducting joint patrols and increasing checkpoints in the security grid area.
Apart from emphasizing cross-border narco trade, security forces were also told to enhance coordination among the police, the Army and the central forces.
The recruiters were based in Pakistan

The Security review meet
- The DGP Dilbagh Singh called a high-level meeting of the security forces, including the Army, CRPF and police officials for a security review in the Rajouri district.
- The Dhangri village in the district recently witnessed heavy terrorists claiming high casualties.
- The DGP issued stringent orders on any anti-government activities, directed measures on the investigation, and issued strict actions on every individual caught assisting and executing a terrorist attack.
The Baramulla massacre

In 1947, in the midst of a winter night, a group of shady militants crossed the Jhelum from the South Waziristan region of Pakistan and entered Kashmir Valley brutally slaying the locals.
They were assisted by Pakistani soldiers in civilian clothes. Muzaffarabad fell on the 24th of October 1947, and the soldiers captured Baramulla the following day.
They also raped and killed Christian Missionary Nuns and nurses at St Joseph’s Hospital on their way to Srinagar airport.
According to Tariq Ali, the local cinema became a “rape center,” with atrocities continuing for several days.
The Baramulla region of Nadimarg has been a region of frequent conflicts.
On the midnight of the second and third of October 2016, militants attacked a camp of the Indian Army’s 46 Rashtriya Rifles in the Baramulla district of Jammu & Kashmir.
The attack was said to have begun at 10:30 pm local time, with at least one officer of the Border Security Force (BSF) killed and a number injured. Two militants were reported to have been killed.
The attack came within weeks after militants attacked an Indian Army installation in Baramulla district’s Uri area.
