New Dayaben in the Show: Disha Vakani cum Dayaben was expected to come back to her iconic role in Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah, especially when recent news of her return flooded the social media.
The Producer Asit Kumar Modi clarified about Dayaben, the character, is all ready to return but the shock here is it will not be Disha Vakani. She will be replaced by her new actor in the upcoming episodes. The hunt for new Dayaben has begun in a determined manner.
Disha Vakani aka Daya’s character is no doubt is one of the most loved and unique characters of Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah, her exceptional skill of ‘Garba’ the way she talks to her mother over call and the last dialogue ‘acha maa main baad mein call krti hoon’ and that baad which never comes the cute companionship with Jethalal (her husband) makes her character out of the world.
New Dayaben in the show
The producer of Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah has stated that Disha Vakani will not be coming back to the show though she was the most loved character. Her place will be given to a new actress who will be taking over for the character, Dayaben.
During his interview with the Etimes Producer, Asit Kumar Modi said, “Dayaben is all set to return but it will not be Disha Vakani. Auditions have started to search for a new dayaben, the character of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and there will be a new face as Dayaben very soon,” he said.
Asit Kumar Modi was also questioned about why he took so long to bring a new face to Dayaben’s character in TMKOC. He said, “After her Marriage, Disha took some time, after some time she had a baby and continued her break to raise her child. But the pandemic struck, and there were too many restrictions on the shooting, though we were taking the necessary precautions, Disha was scared to return to shooting.”
Disha Vakani is embracing motherhood for the second time
Disha left the show in 2017 after she gave birth to her first baby girl, recent news is that Disha gave birth to her second boy child earlier this month. In the meantime, Producer Asit Kumar Modi stated many times that he would be very happy to welcome Disha’s return but that never happened.

In Recent News, Producer Asit Kumar Modi confirmed to the fans the return of Dayaben in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah soon. It has been 5 years since Daya left the show but there are plans of bringing her back to the screen this year.
