City police arrested three local criminals and booked them under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) on Sunday

o The accused, Shelar and his accomplices had committed grave crimes in the area ranging from theft to molestation, spreading terror and unrest.
The Khadak city police on Sunday arrested three hardcore criminals and booked them under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
The accused, their 22 year old gang leader Srinath also known as Tikya Ashok Shelar, residing at Jagde Ali, Ghorpade Peth, Pune along with his two comrades, 22 year old, Kunal Suresh Jadhav 2, of Kaikadi Ali, Ghorpade Peth and 21 years old Ganesh Ballappa Koli of Ghorpade Peth had set off a reign of terror in the respective area to establish their superiority and terror through the gang’s activities.
The gang leader Srinath alias Tikya Ashok Shelar and his two accomplices Kunal Suresh Jadhav and Ganesh Ballappa Koli had created a reign of terror in the area to establish their dominion through various crimes. Shelar and his aides had committed grave crimes in the area such as kidnapping, forcible theft, grievous hurt, preparation for robbery, fighting, murder, rioting, molestation of minor girls among other charges reported.
Despite having taken several preventive actions against this gang, there hadn’t been any improvement in their record. In light of this, senior police inspector Srihari Bahirat had resolved to take action against the accused under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act through directions of Deputy Commissioner of Police, Priyanka Naranware.
As soon as the proposal was given the green signal by Additional Commissioner of Police, Western Regional Division, Rajendra Dahale, action was soon taken against the accused under Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act. Further investigations are being conducted under Faraskhana Division by Additional Commissioner of Police, Satish Govekar.
This is the 24th Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act case lodged by the city police this year, showing a high number of such local crimes.
