Tourism can be defined as an act of travel to a new or different location for business or for leisure. Technically, in a more detailed way we can say it involves travel for a minimum of 24 hours but lesser than a year, and the purpose can be leisure or for business. Tourism generally involves a round trip rather than travelling in a single direction, so the tourism industry encompasses all the elements that provide any kind of service to the tourists
Travel, on the other hand refers to the act from going from one place to another, whether it is for a longer distance or a short distance, or domestic and international. Travel is a term used for both round trips or even single journeys and it also covers many reasons for the travel. It is a broader industry which involves many aspects of the service sector catering to the demands and needs of the people who travel from one part to another part of the world.
