Two journalists from a prominent Hindi daily were shot at in a late-night event as they sipped tea at a restaurant run by the Raipur police station in Sonbhadra district.

Their condition is stable now. According to a report in the Times of India, the victims’ names are Laddu Pandey and Shyam Sundar Pandey. Both Laddu Pandey and Shyam Sundar Pandey are in their mid-30s.
Shyam Sunder Pandey, 38, and Vijay Shankar Pandey, 40, were targeted at around 8:30 p.m. when they were sitting in front of a tea shop in Khaliyari market, which is within the jurisdiction of Raipur police station, with a few friends. This information was provided by police in a tweet shared by Sonbhadra police. Vijay Shanker had a wound close to his right brow, while Shyam Sunder sustained a wound on his right hand. According to physicians, the two only sustained minor wounds as a result of the passing bullets, and their condition is now stable and not life-threatening, according to the police.
The two unnamed criminals arrived at the scene, according to the Sonbhadra Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Vinod Kumar Singh, and fired 1-2 bullets at the victims, hurting them. They left the area right away. The occurrence caused terror in the neighbourhood, and the police were made aware of it.
According to PP Srivastava, the inspector in charge of the Raipur police station, eyewitnesses reported that the attackers were hiding their faces with a cloth as they ran in the direction of the Bihar border at a distance from the market. PP Srivastava said three bullet shells were found from the crime scene.
Police have not yet established a motive for the shooting event. The two are no longer in danger, according to police, and they will give their statements will shortly. According to the police, an FIR has been filed in the incident. To identify the motorcycle and its registration plate, police are also questioning other diners at the restaurant.
