As part of the National Education Policy (NEP), the UGC has set rules that allow students to get two degrees at the same time, either in person, online, or both.
UGC Chairman, M. Jagadesh Kumar, announced the current idea to enable students to pursue two academic programs simultaneously, including full-time degree programs. According to him, the new policy is meant to give students more options and control over their higher education as well as inter-disciplinary education in many different fields.
Using this option, students can get two different types of UG or PG degrees or diplomas at the same time. They can obtain their degrees online or offline mode. Kumar said that top Indian colleges would be able to provide online degree programs in the next two weeks.
The UGC website should include the official set of regulations for individuals who desire to earn two degrees or academic programs at the same time tomorrow.
The new rule will take effect in 2022–23.
Association for Educational Flexibility
It will allow students to learn how they want, based on what the higher education institutions decide, said the UGC Chairman. Kumar said that open, distance and online education were becoming more and more popular in Indian colleges.
