Eastern Ukraine on Monday woke-up to multiple powerful explosions rocking the cities, marking the beginning of a new Russian Offensive against Ukrainian cities in the Russia Ukraine War.
Cities like Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Mariupol have suffered heavy damage. Infrastructure and live’s remain in ruins in the wake of through artillery and missile attacks.
At least 1500 civilian buildings, structures, and vehicles have been destroyed. Since the start beginning of the Russian invasion Nearly 4.5 million civilians have fled the country.
Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine has been marked by condemnation from global leaders all across the world.
In the unfair fight, Russia’s allies are few and numbered. Russian President Vladimir Putin faces the heavy Sanctions imposed by the US and its European allies.
The Invasion is being seen as an act of aggression against Ukraine by the International communities worldwide.
In the David VS Goliath scenario being played out in Europe, Ukrainian Ground forces have come across bravely in the past 6 weeks.
Ukrainian Forces have faced off Russian Forces on multiple fronts. Many Ukrainian cities have been decimated by Russian Artillery and Missile attacks.
Russian Forces have been deliberately targeting buildings and it is not limited to military installations.
Civilian Installations have also received heavy or partial damage, often leaving the structures inoperable. Entire cities like Kharkiv and Mariupol have been reduced to rubble.
There are also multiple reports of human rights violations conducted by the Russian forces in Ukraine.
The strategic southern port city of Kherson is claimed to have been taken by Russian forces along with numerous small villages and towns.
President Zelenskyy has received nearly $1.7 billion in military assistance from the US since the start of the war.
Weapons such as anti-aircraft Stinger and anti-tank Javelin missiles have proved to be extremely effective against Russian armor and aircraft.
Other countries like UK, Germany, and France have also sent shipments of arms and ammunition to Ukraine since President Zelenskyy’s appeal for international support.
The 40 miles long Tank column that has been advancing for Kyiv, has been particularly vulnerable to Ukrainian Ambush.
Resistance forces have stalled the column on numerous occasions since the beginning of the invasion.
Russian President Vladimir Putin had expressed the aim of the invasion as to “de-nazify” and “demilitarize” the neighboring country of Ukraine but has failed to put a swift end to the invasion.
The Kremlin now feels that it needs to step up its efforts to end what it started in the first place.
Due to the Ukrainian Military’s relentless assistance, Ground Forces have put up stiff resistance against advancing Russian Armored forces and aircrafts.
As of Monday, Russia has intensified its attacks on eastern Ukraine. It might be high time that the Ukrainian Forces brace themselves for another wave of Russian Assault.
On Monday Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to meet – the Austrian chancellor Karl Nehammer in Moscow for his first to face meeting with a representative of the European Union since the beginning of the Invasion.
In a statement, Mr. Nehammer said “we are militarily neutral, but (have) a clear position on the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine”.
The loss of lives and property is of surmountable levels. Russian and Ukrainian history has intertwined for many decades now, originating from a common ancestry Ukraine and Russia are more like brothers than adversaries.
The casualties faced by both sides have been high and might reach even higher levels as Russia strengthens its stand on the invasion of Ukraine.
But it is for certain that Russia is not opting for a compromise as the reports of a new assault on the eastern Ukrainian cities are coming to light.
The next three to four weeks may be crucial for the war’s outcome as Russia engages Ukraine again with renewed zeal to conquer Kyiv to finish the war and complete their agenda.
