Ukraine forces outnumber Russian forces by 8 to 1.
When Ukraine took control over the Kharkiv region, which was among one of the biggest regions in Ukraine,

Russia’s top official, Vitaly Gharchev, told Russia Television that the Ukrainian Army has taken control over the villages in the north and broken through the Russian borders.
Ukraine claims that it has taken back around 3000 sq km of territory in six months of the war.
The Army of Ukraine took over 20 villages in the past 24 hours alone, with its continued counter-offensive in the northeast of the country, forces have also taken hold of over 500 sq km of the Southern Kherson Region of the country.
UK Defense officials say, “The success of the Ukrainian army will lead to various changes in the operational plans of the Russian invasion.”
Russia said its forces are carrying out strikes in the areas that Ukraine has taken recently. These targets include –

- Kupiansk
Both of which were taken by Ukraine on Saturday.
Russia confirmed its forces’ “retreat from both towns,” which it said would allow them to regroup.
Valeriy Marchenko, Mayor of Izium, says that the Ukrainian Army was there, ‘In his city & the state flag has been raised.’
The military is now engaged in the clean-up of the city, which was damaged by the ongoing war. Ukrainian forces have also started searching for the Russian soldiers, who may have been hiding in civilian houses.
Mr. Marchenko said that after about “10-days” the residents, who had to flee from the city, would be able to get back “safely.”
Russia has been accused of targeting civilian infrastructure in revenge for its setbacks on the battlefield.
A wave of missile strikes on Sunday led to a power cut across the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions, which “affected millions of people.”
