Unified Payment Interface (UPI) is an instant real-time payment system developed by The National Payment Corporation of India in 2016. UPI Payments volume reached 76 lakh crores in the Current Year compared to 41 lakh crores in the Fiscal Year 2021 as RBI governor said.
UPI123PAY is a New UPI payment solution for feature phones launched by RBI on 8 March. It will help in reaching approximately 40 crore feature phone users to UPI Payment services. As mentioned, it does not need the internet to complete a transaction.
There are four options for using UPI123PAY on any phone: –
1) Interactive Voice Response (IVR)
2) Application based functionality
3) Missed call facility
4) Proximity sound-based system
With the help of UPI123PAY, you can also check your Account balance that is linked with your UPI, make any transaction that supports UPI like Fastag recharge for vehicles, paying utility bills etc.
How to use UPI on a feature phone through IVR: –
1) Dial 08045163666 with linked phone number
2) Choose your Language
3) Tap 1 on your phone to transfer money
4) Select the Bank paired with UPI by saying Bank Name
5) Again Tap 1 for confirmation details
6) Enter the Amount which you want to transfer
7) Enter UPI PIN
