Robin Uthappa through social media highlighted his career, achievement, and his future in the cricket world.
On Wednesday evening the young Indian legend Robin Uthappa highlighted his journey and career in the cricket world highlighted his triumph in the T20 World Cup triumph in 2007, Ranji Trophy, and his success in the IPL (Indian Premier League). When people say that numbers or tally don’t always show the real picture or that the real capabilities of any person suit the scenario of Uthappa’s cricket career. Robbin Uthappa’s international career of 9 years in which he made 46 ODI and 13 T20 appearances, which somehow is not justified to a player with capabilities and talent like him who did a great performance in the 2002-03 Ranji Trophy season. His last spell for the country was in the 2015 away series against Zimbabwe.
At the beginning of Robin Uthappa’s professional cricket career, he debuted in the Ranji Trophy playing for Karnataka against Haryana in Faridabad in December 2002. He went on to play 142 first-class matches (see box), he was even part of the golden era of Karnataka cricket when they won the back-to-back treble in 2013-14 and 2014-15. As he was being a top-order batsman he also did well as a wicket-keeper. In 2017 he left his home and moved to Saurashtra for two seasons before switching to Kerela.
As he did great in his Ranji Trophy Journey and the red-ball cricket helped him to go to the Indian National Cricket Team and many awards as well. Robin Uthappa the Premier League veteran played through 15 seasons and represented 6 IPL franchises which included Rajasthan, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Pune Warriors India, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Chennai Super Kings. Uthappa managed to pile up 7,272 runs in 291 T20 matches with 92 being his highest score.
At the end of his career, he thanked the people who helped him and made a mark in his life and also his career, he even gave a statement in which he stated that “it has been 20 years since I started my playing professional cricket, and it has been my great honor to represent my country and state, Karnataka- a wonderful journey full of ups and downs, one that’s been fulfilling, rewarding, enjoyable and has allowed me to grow as a human being”.
Recently Robin Uthappa has taken a No-Objection certificate from Kerela, the last domestic team which he represented and soon he will be seen in overseas T20 Leagues.
