Refreshing Week on Netflix has begun with the first look at the new Wednesday Adams series. We got our first peek at Jenna Ortega (Scream, X) as of Wednesday Addams in the first video.
Wednesday Adams Character Evolution From cartoon to the on-screen portrayal
Wednesday, the only daughter of Gomez and Morticia, was portrayed in the original sitcom as the sweetest of the family. However, Christina Ricci’s portrayal of her in the 1991 Barry Sonnenfeld-directed film adaptation modified her personality to be much more deadpan and vicious, making her one of the most popular characters in the franchise. Wednesday is a spin-off character who attends the boarding school Nevermore Academy. She develops psychic abilities and investigates a supernatural killing spree linked to her family’s history in “Wednesday.”
The Addams Family is a weird aristocratic dynasty created by Charles Addams for a series of New Yorker cartoons. They have a preoccupation with the macabre and are completely unconcerned about how others view them. After a 1964 comedy fleshed out their personalities, the characters grew popular. They have since starred in two live-action theatrical pictures, two animated shows, a Broadway musical, and two animated features.
Update on Wednesday Adams Family
The widely anticipated series is a spin-off of the famous Addams Family television series, centred on Wednesday, the family’s eldest child. Thing, a dismembered living hand, is also shown hanging out on Wednesday’s shoulder in the short film.
Tim Burton (Big Fish) is directing the live-action series, his first step into producing a TV series. The series and Burton’s involvement were confirmed in early 2021, with the Batman filmmaker teasing his desire to work on it in late 2020. Wednesday will have eight episodes in its initial season.
The rest of the Addams family will feature in the show, in addition to Ortega, on Wednesday. The central cast includes Catherine Zeta-Jones as the matriarch Morticia and Victor Dorobantu as Thing, the family’s disembodied hand servant. Isaac Ordonez plays Wednesday’s brother Pugsley, and the household manservant Lurch is played by George Burcea. In addition, Luis GuzmĂ¡n will appear as Wednesday’s father, Gomez, in the series as a guest role.
Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Percy Hynes White, Gwendoline Christie, Thora Birch, Hunter Doohan, Percy Hynes White, Joy Sunday, Emma Myers, Georgie Farmer, Naomi Ogawa, and Moosa Mostafa are among the show’s primary cast members. Ricci will also feature an undisclosed role in a tribute to 1990s flicks.
