Calling and texting to new or unsaved numbers on WhatsApp still doesn’t have an option to communicate with other WhatsApp numbers. which pushes users to save even unwillingly new numbers to chat or call on the WhatsApp platform. However, the Meta-owned platform could soon be changing this and is bringing in a new, easier way to message people who aren’t saved as contacts.
Version 2.22.8.11 of the Android beta app for WhatsApp provides access to chatting as well as calling with an unknown person and it could be easier than having to save their number tapping on the chat bubble icon in the information section will open up a few options including messaging.
And once you tap on the mobile number, the app will display you an option like ‘Dial’ and ‘Add to contacts on its beta updates, to start chatting with the contact without having to save the number on your phone, if that mobile number is available on WhatsApp. These new updates could efficiently consent to direct communication over WhatsApp.
The feature is still in beta version and still has some time to come for all users, till then, there’s an alternative way to chat with a contact that is not saved on your phone. The initial step for that just opening your browser and visiting this URL – ttps://wa.me/phonenumber, whereby the “phone number” ought to be replaced with a number to which you want to text.
Still needs a lot of work
Of course, there is still some setback, the new update is not the perfect one, because presently it only works for mobile numbers which exist on a chat that you can tap on the WhatsApp platform. This means either somebody else has to send you this number or you must send it to someone before you can tap on it to open up the new options.
In reality, it’s still not a hassle-free process. The new implementation is still not flawless, but it’s a good start for WhatsApp!
WhatsApp could limit forwarding messages to groups
Whatsapp has been busy with new updates. As per one more update, it is also trying out a new message forwarding limitation, according to WABetaInfo, you are unable to forward a message to multiple groups at once.
Instead of the five groups, you can forward a message to one group only, this is a new limitation of WhatsApp. The feature is still in testing and is put into practice on WhatsApp Beta version 2..7.2 for Android. It is yet not clear if it will make it to the stable version.
