Beijing:- State broadcaster CCTV said Tuesday more than 18 hours after the crash and “Wreckage of the plane was found at the scene, but up until, none of those aboard the plane with whom the contract was lost has been found,”.
As the search continued Tuesday of the scattered wreckage of a China Eastern plane carrying 132 people that crashed a day earlier in a forested mountainous area in China’s worst air disaster in a decade where it was observed that no survivors have been found.
The accident involving a China Eastern Airlines Boeing 737 took place near the city of Wuzhou in Teng County according to the broadcaster. For Guangzhou in Guangdong province from Kunming, capital of Yunnan province, Flight MU5735 was en route.
China’s Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and the airline said that the aircraft with 123 passengers and nine crew on board lost contact with Wuzhou. Further observation shows us that the crash, in which the plane descended at a final rate of 31,000 feet a minute according to FlightRadar24, sparked a mountainside fire. The crash created a deep pit in the mountainside as per the reports given by Xinhua News.
As per the State Media Reports (all Boeing), 737-800s in China Eastern’s fleet were ordered grounded and according to the Aviation experts, it is unusual to ground an entire fleet of planes unless there is evidence of a problem with the model. As per the Aviation Consultant IBA, China has more 737-800s than any other country- nearly 1,200- and if identical planes at other Chinese airlines are grounded, it “could have a significant impact on domestic travel.”
