New Delhi: Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan’s first film together, “Zara Hatke Zara Bachke,” made an impressive debut at the box office, raking in nearly ₹22.5 crore net in its opening weekend.
The film, which was released on Friday, started with a collection of ₹5.49 crore and saw a growth of ₹7.20 crore on Saturday. It continued its upward trend on Sunday, earning ₹9.90 crore and bringing its opening weekend total to ₹22.59 crore in the domestic market.
Industry experts anticipate a steady performance on Monday, projecting a collection of around ₹3 crores, which would indicate a drop of less than 50% compared to Friday’s earnings.
If the film manages to exceed the ₹3 crore mark, it would be a positive outcome. The movie capitalized on the sudden release slot, benefiting from the rescheduling of “Jawaan.”
Renowned trade analyst Taran Adarsh expressed optimism about the film’s performance, stating in a tweet, “Zara Hatke Zara Bachke swims to the winning post, goes from strength to strength in weekend 1… National chains are excellent, mass pockets join the party on Day 3. All eyes are on the make-or-break Monday- Friday ₹5.49 crore, Saturday ₹7.20 crore, Sunday ₹9.90 crore. Total: ₹22.59 crore. India biz (business).”

Taran also highlighted the multiplex collecting numbers and emphasized the film’s weekend growth. “Day-wise growth/ declineGrowth on Saturday is 31.15%, and growth on Sunday is 37.50%. Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3: The national chains – 3.35 crore, 4.55 crore, and 5.75 crore in total,” he tweeted.
The “buy one, get one” offer on the film’s tickets also contributed to the box office collection, which remained in effect until Sunday. As a result, “Zara Hatke Zara Bachke” achieved a respectable debut weekend figure. The film faces competition from Adah Sharma’s “The Kerala Story,” which is performing well in theatres, and “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.”
Audiences have responded positively to Vicky and Sara’s on-screen chemistry in the film. The movie’s songs have also found good responses from the audience.
