Swarna Kumari, a lady who adopted the victim after her mother died of COVID in June 2021, drove the 13-year-old girl into prostitution. The incident was brought to light after the girl’s father approached authorities in an attempt to locate his daughter.
According to reports, a 13-year-old girl was reportedly pushed into prostitution for about eight months and raped by more than 80 persons in separate brothels in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The youngster was rescued on Tuesday, and 74 people have been detained in connection with the case. The Guntur West police detained ten people on Tuesday, including a B.Tech student.
According to a Times of India report, Swarna Kumari, the primary accused in the case, befriended the girl’s mother at a Covid-19 hospital in June last year. After her mother died of Covid-19, Kumari “adopted” the minor girl and pushed her into prostitution.
After her father complained, the police started a case and initiated a search for the daughter in August 2021.
