The cops said they were investigating the girl’s missing case when they found out that she had been raped.” We found her in Pune. After recording her statement, we arrested the accused,” the deputy commissioner of police in Pune said.
The victim is kept under observation at the nearest hospital because of the mental trauma that she has suffered.

To keep the victim’s mum, the suspects threatened to harm her family members and continued the sexual abuse,” as reported by the Indian express.
Considering the alleged involvement of two railway employees in the crime, the railway administration has suspended the two staff. Divisional Railway Manager of Pune Renu Sharma said the administration is cooperating with the police in the case.
“A case has been registered under various sections of the IPC (IPC (Indian Penal Code)) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO)Act,” said the Wanwadi police station senior inspector Deepak Lagad.
This case has shocked many people because of the involvement of public transport employees doing such heinous crimes. Who can we trust now? If The ones who take care of our safe journey are doing such crime, then can we as women travelers dream of a safe journey?
The rape cases in Pune are rising day by day. Some months back, the police arrested a 37-year-old man from Pimpri Chinchwad who raped a seven-year-old girl on 24, September 2018 and was on the run in Pune’s Pimpri Chinchwad. On September 24, the victim’s mother filed an FIR at the police station.
Against an unknown person for kidnapping her daughter. Three days later, the girl’s perished body was found on the open ground of Hindustan Antibiotics in Pimpri.
The girl was found dead, and the post-mortem report confirmed that she was raped before the murder. Pune alone has witnessed over 100 child rape cases in 6 months.
This type of rape has happened many times before. Railways should take strict action against such employees. The lack of CCTV cameras and social awareness that this could happen to anyone is the weakest point of any victim who goes through sexual harassment in public places.
