60-year-old man robbed by three men in South Delhi’s Madangir area; two arrested, valuables recovered

New Delhi: one more stunning occurrence, a 60-year-old person was allegedly robbed by three miscreants while he was getting back home after purchasing groceries. The looters allegedly took the old man’s gold chain, cell phone, wallet, gold ring and wristwatch. The incident allegedly happened on Tuesday in South Delhi’s Madangir region.
As per police, both the accused have been caught and a further test is in progress. The arrested accused have been identified as Jaidev Chand and Rahul, both age around 22, The Indian Express revealed.
Cops stated that the man resided with his family at the DDA flats and was returning back home after purchasing food from a nearby store. According to the police officer , three men moved toward the victim around 9:20 am and grabbed him. Prior to running away from the area, they endeavored to choke him and took his telephone and jewellery, the officers added.
A case was immediately filed, and the police stated that footage from more than 70 CCTV cameras in the area had been scanned in order to identify the men,
Chandan Chowdhary, DCP (South) said, “A few strikes were done, and the accused were taken away from their homes. harsh Negi, their associate, is still at large. While being questioned, the two men who were arrested confessed. We have already taken the victim’s wallet, watch, and gold ring out of their possession along with some cash.”
Police also said that the accused are history sheeters and have prior involvement in seven to nine similar cases.
